THE 3 P’S TO HELP YOU GAIN CONFIDENCE ON CAMERA!

When it comes to becoming comfortable in front of the camera there is no single piece of advice that will magically make you more comfortable. Feeling confident with a camera lens pointed at you takes work and sometimes a little Beyonce spirit. In today’s media age there is a direct need for personable content within your businesses social media platforms. That now means stepping out from behind the camera, and instead getting in front of it.  Luckily we have come up with The 3 P’s to help you gain confidence and comfortability being on camera!

PREP

This is the stage where you are preparing yourself for the camera AKA Treat Yourself. Do whatever you feel you need to do in order for you to be mentally and physically confident. Steps within this stage could be getting your hair and makeup done, getting a manicure, massage, facial, and scouring your closet to find the right outfit that makes you feel confident and beautiful.

PRACTICE

Practice makes perfect! No one was born a perfect poser. It takes time and practice to figure out what poses you feel comfortable in and what you feel is flattering to you. We recommend practicing poses in front of a mirror or with a friend before shooting in front of the camera. Seeing yourself in these poses ahead of time gives you an idea of what to do and how you look like doing it.

PERFORM

Our last tip… fake it till you make it. You can do everything to ensure that you feel comfortable in front of the camera but sometimes that just isn’t enough. That’s when faking it till you make it come in. Perform as if you were a different person, channel your inner Beyonce and perform as if you were someone else. This should loosen you up and you’ll be able to relax and enjoy being in front of the camera! You’re going to be great!

At the end of the day, our biggest advice is to just trust us! While some things may feel uncomfortable or awkward, we promise we have your best interest at heart. Fully embrace what we tell you to do, and we promise it will produce amazing results. Push any weird feelings aside and let your natural self fly free!

It’s no surprise that social media is moving towards a more personable approach in their sharing. With that being said, the need to be in front of the camera is now more than ever. If you haven’t already jumped on the personable posts and videos bandwagon, here’s your sign to do so. If you’d like to get started with photos and videos for your business, Mend Marketing Co would love to be of help. Send us a message at info@mendmarketing.ca to get started!
